Doodhpathri
Doodhpathri is a beautiful meadow with emerald grass that resembles a green carpet. In the heart of this meadow, a beautiful river dances and reverberates with the wind, lending it splendid charm and vibrancy. The place exudes beauty and pleasantness, with the lush green grass underfoot creating a truly wonderful experience.
Although Doodhpathri has recently been included in the Jammu and Kashmir tourist map, it remains uncrowded, attracting fewer tourists. However, it has become a local favorite. The road from Khansahib area in Badgam to Doodhpathri is not in great condition, and there are no full-fledged markets or hotels in the vicinity. As a result, day trips are common, and visitors need to pack their own lunch. Local shops offer tea and snacks.
While reaching the area can be somewhat hectic, the effort is worthwhile. The local government is working to improve accessibility by connecting Doodhpathri with concrete roads. Once completed, it is believed that Doodhpathri will rank as the third most preferred tourist destination in the valley.
As mentioned earlier, travel can be challenging. To reach Doodhpathri, take a bus to Budgam from Lalchowk Srinagar, then catch a vehicle to Khansahib. From Khansahib, you can hire a cab directly to Doodhpathri. Alternatively, if you arrive in Kashmir by air, take the bus to Budgam from the Humhama area, just two kilometers from the airport.
The weather at Doodhpathri remains moderate. The best time to visit is during spring and summer, from May to September. The place is primarily for sightseeing, as it has not been fully developed yet.
